Questions owners ask

Is registration really free?

Yes. Registering your e-bike and creating its Bike Passport on EbikeMate is free.

Is EbikeMate government-run?

No. EbikeMate is an independent, 100% Australian owned and operated platform. It is not a government registry, and a Bike Passport doesn’t replace a police report.

Can people see my personal information?

No. A public bike check shows bike information — make, model, registration and theft status, and a photo you choose. Your name, email, phone number and address are never shown.

What happens if I sell my bike?

You transfer the Bike Passport to the new owner. When they accept, the record and its history move to their account; your private documents and notes stay with you.

What happens if my bike is stolen?

Report it to the police first, then mark it stolen in one tap. Anyone who checks the serial sees the report, and marketplace listings with that serial are stopped.

Does registration guarantee recovery?

No. Registration keeps your bike’s identifying information recorded and ready to share, which can help — but nothing can guarantee theft prevention or recovery.

Do I need all my battery information now?

No. Create the Bike Passport with the brand, model and frame serial first. Add the battery, photos, receipt and service history whenever suits you.

Brand not listed? Pick by motor system — parts follow the motor, not the badge on the frame.

Where are you?

Your postcode decides what you can see. Batteries are pickup only, so they only show to buyers near the seller, and some items are not shown in every state.
