Terms of use

1. What we are

EbikeMate is a place where sellers list e-bikes and e-bike parts and buyers contact them. We introduce buyers and sellers. We are not the seller, we do not own or hold the goods, and we do not act as anyone’s agent. The contract of sale is between the buyer and the seller.

2. Sellers

You must own what you list and have the right to sell it. You must grade it under the published grading specification and describe each defect you know of, with a photo. Photos must be of the actual item. A business seller must not state or imply that the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law do not apply. If you list often enough that you may be trading as a business, we will ask you to switch to a business account.

3. Things that cannot be listed

Swollen, leaking, burnt or case-breached batteries; batteries without a working battery management system; items with a removed or defaced serial number; recalled products; stolen goods; anything you are not legally allowed to sell. Batteries over 100 Wh cannot be offered for postage except between verified businesses with a dangerous-goods carrier account.

4. Grades and inspections

A seller’s grade is the seller’s statement. Where we or a partner shop inspect an item, the inspection grade replaces the seller’s grade and the listed price may be reduced to match. Grade records are kept and cannot be edited.

5. Where listings are shown

We may hide some listings from buyers in some places to comply with state and federal law, including battery listings in New South Wales and battery listings outside the seller’s region.

6. Accounts

We may verify business details, ask for identification, and suspend accounts that break these terms.

Where are you?

Your postcode decides what you can see. Batteries are pickup only, so they only show to buyers near the seller, and some items are not shown in every state.
