Queensland rules: e-bikes must be compliant (max 250 W continuous, assistance cuts out at 25 km/h, EN 15194 label). Rail trails are exempt from the age and licence rules that started on 31 August 2026, so anyone can ride a compliant e-bike there.

Before you go
- Water is available sa most towns, and shade shelters and bubblers are mapped on the official site
- Many campsites along the route, including free overnight camping at Linville and Benarkin station yards, showgrounds at Lowood, Toogoolawah and Blackbutt, and caravan parks at Esk and Yarraman. Wild camping and open fires are prohibited
- Charging: the official site maps e-bike charging stations and says most cafes and pubs will let you charge with a meal purchase if you ask
- Hybrid or mountain bikes are recommended, not road bikes. North to south is described as the easier direction. Check DTMR closure updates after severe weather
