Highlights

  • Australia's longest rail trail, following a railway line built(the late 1800s and early 1900s, through Fernvale, Lowood, Esk, Toogoolawah, Linville, Blackbutt and Yarraman)
  • Heritage-listed Lockyer Creek Railway Bridge and Yimbun Railway Tunnel
  • Climbs through the Blackbutt Range between Linville and Blackbutt
  • The local trail users association says about half of the trail's traffic is 電動單車

Before you go

  • Water is available(most towns, and shade shelters and bubblers are mapped on the official site)
  • Many campsites along the route, including free overnight camping at Linville and Benarkin station yards, showgrounds at Lowood, Toogoolawah and Blackbutt, and caravan parks at Esk and Yarraman. Wild camping and open fires are prohibited
  • Charging: the official site maps e-bike charging stations and says most cafes and pubs will let you charge with a meal purchase if you ask
  • Hybrid or mountain bikes are recommended, not road bikes. North to south is described as the easier direction. Check DTMR closure updates after severe weather
Charging and battery range. Gravel, hills and headwinds drain a battery faster than the spec sheet says. Plan your stops, carry your charger, and never leave a battery charging unattended — see battery safety.
