Within the limits = up to 250 W rated power, with assistance stopping at 25 km/h. How we decide

Counts are e-bike models sa the EbikeMate catalogue. “Legal” means the published specs are within 250 W and 25 km/h; “Over” means they exceed either; “Unknown” means the maker or retailer doesn’t list both the rated power and the assist speed — check the bike’s label.

How we decide. A pedal-assist e-bike is road legal sa Australia when its motor has at most 250 W continuous rated power and stops assisting at 25 km/h; a throttle may only work up to 6 km/h sa most states. These lists use the specs makers and retailers publish — check the label on the actual bike. In Queensland every e-bike also needs an EN 15194 (or Legacy EPAC) compliance label from 1 March 2027. Mga karaniwang tanong

Which e-bike brands are not legal sa Australia?

No brand is illegal as such — it comes down to each model. Some brands sell versions over 250 W or with assistance above 25 km/h to Australians, often alongside a compliant 250 W version. Check the exact model and its label.

EbikeMate doesn’t sell these bikes or review them, and a listing here isn’t an endorsement. Specs change between model years and markets. Spotted an error? Sabihin sa amin.
