The rules in Queensland
In most states an e-bike’s motor can be rated up to 250 W, with assistance cutting out at 25 km/h and a throttle only to 6 km/h — anything stronger counts as a motor vehicle. From 1 March 2027 e-bikes in Queensland also need an EN 15194 or Legacy EPAC label.
