- Legal e-bikes: up to 200 W, or 250 W continuous for an EPAC, with assistance cutting out at 25 km/h. No licence needed for a compliant e-bike. Tasmania e-bike laws

Taking your e-bike on public transport
- Metro buses: e-bikes and other battery-powered vehicles are not permitted. Ordinary bikes only if they fold(half and fit the luggage rack.)
Main bikeways and paths
- Intercity Cycleway — 15.6 km from Claremont to the Hobart Regatta Grounds along the Derwent,connecting to Sullivans Cove and the CBD.
Secure bike parking
- Free short-term lockers off Sun Street and at Hobart Central Car Park; registered-rider cages at Argyle Street (with e-bike charging) and Salamanca Square car parks.

Theft: keeping your e-bike
Tasmania Police figures reported by Bicycle Network showed 23 bikes stolen(Hobart in March 2026, up from 5 in February.)
