Queensland fines went up 3.5% on 1 July 2026, when the new e-mobility laws started. These are the current amounts for e-scooters and other personal mobility devices from the Queensland Government. E-scooter offences carry no demerit points, but several fines can apply at once — and police can seize an illegal scooter.

If yours is seized: how to get a seized e-scooter back.

- Ride at 12 km/h or less on footpaths and when passing people on shared paths, and stay off roads over 60 km/h. Where you can ride
- Helmet on, phone in a handlebar mount, lights at night, nobody on the back.
