An e-scooter’s serial number is how police match a recovered scooter to its owner, and how a buyer checks it isn’t stolen. Find it and record it today — it takes two minutes.
Where to look
- On the frame or deck. Most scooters have a printed sticker on the frame — on the stem, beside the charging port, or under the deck.
- In the app. Many connected scooters show the serial (SN) in their app’s device information screen.
- On the box and receipt. The packaging label and your receipt or warranty card usually show it too.
- On the battery and charger. These have their own serials — record them as well.

Reading it correctly
- Write down every character in order. Watch for look-alikes: 0 and O, 1 and I, 5 and S, 8 and B.
- Don’t confuse it with the model number or a barcode number printed near it.
