EbikeMate partner API
Check an e-bike against the EbikeMate register from your own system. For verified insurer, fleet, council and dealer partners.
Getting a key
Your organisation admin creates keys in the Partner portal (Partner portal → API & usage). A key is shown once — store it like a password. Send it on every call:
Authorization: Bearer ebm_live_…
Up to 120 calls a minute per key. Revoke a key any time; calls with it stop at once.
Check a bike
GET https://www.ebikemate.com.au/api/v1/bikes/check?serial=WTU123456C
Pass serial (the frame serial) or emid (the EbikeMate ID). The answer:

A bike that isn’t registered returns { "found": false }. Owner names and contact details are never returned.
Insurers: verify a claim

Returns everything above, plus claimantMatchesOwner (true, false, or null if you sent no claimant details) and proofOfPurchaseOnFile. The claim reference is kept in your organisation’s log.
Errors
- 401 — missing or revoked key
- 403 — your organisation’s kind can’t use that check
- 422 — check the fields named in
fields - 429 — slow down
Usage and pricing
Each call counts as one check, the same as a check in the portal. Your organisation admin can see checks by month in the portal. Pricing is agreed with each partner; pilots are free.
