How to sell your e-bike fast (and for a fair price)

Updated 9 October 2026 · 4 min read

1. Price it right

When you list on EbikeMate we show what similar ads are listed for and the RRP when new. As a rough guide, a well-kept e-bike under two years old with a healthy battery often sells for around half to two-thirds of its RRP. Kilometres, battery health and condition move the price up or down.

2. Take the photos buyers want

  • Both sides of the whole bike, in daylight
  • The display, showing the kilometres
  • The battery label (Wh and volts)
  • The frame serial number
  • Close-ups of every mark or damage — honesty sells

3. Show the battery health

It is the first thing buyers ask. Most big brands show it in their app or at a dealer; a shop diagnostic report earns the most trust. Read our battery health guide.

4. Register the serial

Register your bike free before you list. Your ad then shows Registered to this seller, which tells buyers it is yours to sell.

5. Reply fast and hand over safely

  • Reply to messages quickly — the first good reply usually wins.
  • Meet in daylight and let them ride somewhere safe.
  • Take payment before they ride away. Never accept “overpayments” or courier pickups you didn’t arrange.
  • Remove the bike from My bikes once it is sold, so the new owner can register it.

Where are you?

Your postcode decides what you can see. Batteries are pickup only, so they only show to buyers near the seller, and some items are not shown in every state.
